Scent Journey
The first thirty minutes are pure indulgence. The maple syrup accord is at its most vivid and literal — a glossy, golden, faintly smoky sweetness that blooms off the skin with surprising force. A gentle prickle of warm spice keeps it from smelling like a bakery, and there is a subtle boozy, barrel-aged quality that hints at the woods to come.
Between one and two hours, the syrup recedes and the peony steps forward. The fragrance becomes noticeably more floral and more wearable: dewy, pink, faintly peppery, with a velvety rose-like richness that many wearers detect alongside the official peony note. The sweetness is diffused rather than removed, woven into petals instead of poured over them.
Four hours and beyond, amberwood takes ownership. Dry, warm, slightly smoky and remarkably polished, it transforms the gourmand into something closer to a skin scent in the best sense — intimate, comforting and endlessly wearable. Traces are frequently reported on skin and fabric well past the eight-hour mark.
Performance Dashboard
Reported at 8+ hours on skin, with some wearers describing multi-day traces on fabric.
Good to strong for the first several hours, then settling into a closer, more intimate wear.
Moderate to strong — a visible aura that draws people in rather than pushing them away.
When to Wear

- ✅ Excellent value for a designer EDP with this level of performance
- ❌ The opening is intensely sweet and may be polarising

Price & Value
“One of the better value propositions in the designer amber-floral category for 2026, undercutting comparable niche gourmands by a wide margin.”

Layering Ideas
- Layer over a pure vanilla or tonka base to amplify the maple syrup accord and push the gourmand character further.
- Pair with a dry cedar or sandalwood-dominant fragrance to sharpen the amberwood drydown and add structure.
- Mist a light bergamot or neroli on the pulse points first to lift the opening and make the composition more wearable in transitional weather.
- Layer with a soft rose soliflore to emphasise the floral heart and create something distinctly romantic.
