Scent Journey
The first 30 minutes are bright and unmistakably Italian: Sicilian lemon and orange arrive with a juicy, slightly sweet sparkle, sharpened by the green, faintly bitter edge of lemon tree petitgrain. It is vivid but never screechy, and the citrus already feels softer and rounder than the house's classic Colonia opening.
Between roughly one and two hours, the citrus recedes and the wood accords take over. Lemon wood keeps a citrus-adjacent brightness alive, while fig wood introduces a creamy, milky-green, almost coconut-adjacent softness. Hedione fills the space between them with airy, jasmine-like transparency, so the heart never feels heavy or dense.
From around four hours onward, the fragrance settles into a quiet skin scent. Musk provides the bulk of the base, smooth and slightly powdery, with Virginian cedarwood adding a dry, pencil-shaving structure and cistus absolute contributing a faint resinous, honeyed warmth. What remains is soft, clean and close to the body rather than loud.
Performance Dashboard
4-6 hours on skin, per editorial estimates. Expect closer to four hours in heat and closer to six on clothing or in cooler, humid conditions.
Close to the skin with moderate projection at the start. This is not a room-filling fragrance and is not designed to be.
Moderate to soft. It leaves a pleasant trail for the first couple of hours, then becomes largely personal.
When to Wear
Pros & Cons
- Beautifully judged Sicilian citrus opening that avoids the harshness of many lemon fragrances
- The lemon wood and fig wood heart gives the composition real texture and originality
- Extremely versatile and office-safe thanks to its soft projection
- Unisex in the truest sense, with no gendered sweetness or sharpness
- Excellent spring and summer daytime companion
- Longevity of roughly four to six hours is modest for an eau de parfum at this price
- Projection is close to the skin, so it will not satisfy wearers who want presence
- The citrus-woody profile is crowded at this price point, and the scent is more polished than novel
- Not a cold-weather fragrance, which limits year-round value
- No verified aggregate user ratings were available at the time of writing
Price & Value
“Fair for the house, average for the category. You are paying for the quality of the citrus materials, the Giacobetti authorship and the packaging as much as for performance, which is deliberately restrained. If longevity per dollar is your priority, this is not the strongest buy in its bracket.”
Reformulation History
No significant batch variations reported. As a recent 2026 release, the fragrance is still early in its production life, so reformulation-driven batch differences are unlikely to have surfaced yet.

Layering Ideas
- Layer over Acqua di Parma Colonia to sharpen the citrus and add a more classic, tailored edge. Apply Colonia first, then Buongiorno Dolce Far Niente on top.
- Pair with Fico di Amalfi to amplify the fig wood and green facets in the heart.
- For evening wear, apply a single spray over a woody amber base such as Colonia Ambra to add depth without smothering the lemon.
- Keep layering light. Because this is a close-to-the-skin composition, heavy layering will bury the citrus and leave you with only the musk base.
- On very hot days, spray once on the chest and once on the back of the neck rather than on wrists, where the citrus will fade fastest.
