The first 0–30 minutes are a striking, almost theatrical burst of absinthe, anise, and fennel. The absinthe note is not the sweet, licorice-like version but rather a dry, herbal, and slightly bitter interpretation, reminiscent of the green fairy itself. Anise and fennel amplify the anisic character, creating a sharp, aromatic opening that is both invigorating and challenging. This phase is bold and uncompromising, setting the stage for the transformation to come.

After about an hour, the lavender heart emerges, softening the initial sharpness. The lavender here is not the fresh, camphoraceous variety but a more rounded, slightly sweet lavender that blends seamlessly with the remaining anisic notes. The transition is smooth, as the herbal top notes begin to recede, allowing a powdery, floral-herbal accord to develop. This phase lasts for 1–2 hours and is where the fragrance feels most balanced—still aromatic but with a growing warmth.

From the fourth hour onward, the base notes of black vanilla husk and musk take center stage. The black vanilla husk is a masterstroke: it is not the typical sweet, gourmand vanilla but a darker, more resinous, and slightly smoky vanilla that retains a hint of the anisic bitterness from the opening. The musk is clean and slightly animalic, providing a soft, skin-hugging finish. The drydown is intimate, powdery, and surprisingly long-lasting, with the vanilla and musk lingering for 6–8 hours or more.
