Scent Journey
The first 0-30 minutes bring cardamom, bergamot and pink pepper. The opening is spiced and lightly bright, but it does not stay crisp for long. The bergamot gives a brief lift while cardamom and pink pepper add a warm, slightly textured spice. The sweetness and powder from the heart and base begin to show early, so the transition from spice to plush floral-amber is quick.
At roughly 1-2 hours, the heart takes over with tuberose, iris, violet and ambergris. This is the powdery white-floral core of Mercurial Cashmere. Iris and violet add a soft, cosmetic-like powder, while tuberose gives a creamy floral weight. Ambergris lends a musky, slightly salty warmth that keeps the florals from becoming too sweet or airy. The overall effect is smooth and dense rather than sparkling.
From 4+ hours, the base becomes the main event: vanilla, caramel, cashmere wood, tonka bean, musk, cedar and agarwood. The vanilla and caramel create a creamy sweetness, cashmere wood and tonka add softness, and cedar and oud give a restrained woody structure. The drydown is warm, plush and slightly powdery, with musk extending the skin-scent effect. Longevity is reported at 8-9 hours.

- Good 8-9 hour longevity from an extrait concentration
- Unisex profile that balances sweetness with woods and musk
- Noticeable but not overwhelming scent trail
- Sweet and powdery profile will not suit fresh or minimalist tastes
- £245 for 100ml places it firmly in luxury niche pricing
- Best suited to fall and winter rather than hot weather
Price & Value
“Fair within the luxury extrait segment if the sweet powdery amber-oud profile suits you, but it is not a budget blind buy. Sampling first is sensible.”

Layering Ideas
- Layer with a simple vanilla or amber fragrance to amplify the creamy base.
- Use a light musk or cedar fragrance underneath to extend the woody drydown.
- Avoid layering with bright citrus unless you want to lift the opening and reduce the powdery sweetness.
