Scent Journey
The first spray leads with lavender and pink pepper. The lavender is the more prominent of the two and arrives clean and aromatic rather than sharp or medicinal, softened almost immediately by a suggestion of sweetness from the heart notes beneath. Pink pepper adds a light, dry sparkle that keeps the opening from feeling flat. Expect roughly the first thirty minutes to be the most aromatic phase of the wear.
Within an hour, the fragrance shifts decisively toward its gourmand core. Vanilla and milk dominate the heart, producing a creamy, lactonic texture that is the defining characteristic of NYC Desire. Orange blossom and jasmine sit underneath, providing a white floral lift that prevents the composition from becoming purely edible. This is the fullest and most recognizable stage of the scent.
After four hours and beyond, the fragrance settles into vanilla bean, cocoa shell, Ambroxan and oak. The cocoa shell reads as a dry, faintly bitter dusting rather than a full chocolate note, and the oak and Ambroxan give the base a subtle woody-musky structure. The result is a soft, powdery, slightly ambered vanilla that lingers close to the skin.

Moderate; leaves a scent trail without filling a room
When to Wear
Pros & Cons
- Creamy, approachable vanilla-lavender gourmand that avoids being cloying
- Very accessible price point for a 100ml eau de parfum
- Versatile enough for everyday wear, evenings and date nights
- Solid reported longevity of 6-8 hours
- Very limited public data and a small, statistically soft rating base
- Moderate sillage will disappoint anyone wanting a loud fragrance
- Lactonic milk note is divisive and will not suit every skin chemistry
- Distinctly different from the original 5th Avenue, which may alienate line loyalists
Price & Value
“Strong value. The composition is not groundbreaking, but the price-to-quality ratio is difficult to argue with for a 100ml EDP with 6-8 hour longevity.”
Reformulation History
No significant batch variations reported. This is a 2026 release and there is not yet enough production history or community testing to identify reformulation or batch differences.

Layering Ideas
- Layer over an unscented body lotion to extend the lactonic vanilla through the drydown
- Pair with a plain vanilla or tonka body mist to amplify the gourmand core without adding competing florals
- Combine with a light woody or Ambroxan-forward fragrance to reinforce the base and add depth
- Avoid layering with sharp citrus or green florals, which will fight the lavender and milk notes
