Scent Journey
The first thirty minutes are a sunlit burst: blackberry arrives plump, tart and faintly jammy, its seeds almost audible, while bergamot slices through it with a cold, glittering peel. It is juicy without being sugary — a fruit crushed in the hand rather than spooned from a jar. There is a green undercurrent even here, a whisper of crushed leaf and damp stem that tells you where this is going.
As the fruit recedes, the heart opens like a garden gate. Clary sage brings its strange, herbal, almost tea-like dryness — savoury, slightly hay-like, faintly metallic in the most beautiful way. Lavender softens it, but this is not the lavender of soap; it is the grey-green lavender of a hillside in June, resinous and cool. The cashmere accord wraps both in a powdery, skin-adjacent softness, giving the middle an intimacy that the bright opening never promised.
Four hours in, Verde Respiro becomes something else entirely: an oakmoss chypre with a fruit stain on its fingers. Patchouli provides the dark, slightly camphoraceous earth; oakmoss the cool, inky, forest-floor depth; ambergris a saline, skin-warm hum that keeps everything breathing. Iris dusts the composition with a grey, suede-like powder, and vanilla — restrained, never gourmand — rounds the edges with a soft, resinous sweetness. Traces of blackberry linger throughout like a memory, drying down to something mossy, quietly sensual and deeply grounded.
Performance Dashboard
Long-lasting — reviewers consistently report 8+ hours on skin, with a faint mossy trace clinging to fabric well into the following day.
Intense opening with a confident arm's-length throw, softening considerably through the drydown into a personal, intimate aura.
Moderate to strong. It announces itself in the first hour, then settles into a close, green, skin-scented trail that follows rather than fills a room.
When to Wear
Pros & Cons
- A genuinely original fruity-green chypre — blackberry and oakmoss is a pairing rarely executed this well
- Excellent longevity for an EDP, easily 8+ hours on skin
- Truly unisex and remarkably versatile across spring, fall and mild weather
- Natural, garden-like realism that avoids both synthetic sharpness and cloying sweetness
- Beautifully judged drydown — mossy, powdery and quietly sensual
- The intense opening can feel sharp or overly fruity to those expecting a soft green scent
- Projection fades noticeably after the first two hours — not a 'beast mode' performer
- The patchouli-oakmoss base is a love-it-or-leave-it proposition for some noses
- At $170 for 100ml, it sits in premium niche territory with limited sampling opportunities
- Newer release with a relatively small review base, so long-term batch consistency is unproven
Price & Value
“Fair value, not a bargain. You are paying for originality and material quality rather than volume or hype. If the blackberry-oakmoss idea speaks to you, it earns its price; if you want a loud, crowd-pleasing fruity scent, your money is better spent elsewhere.”
Reformulation History
No significant batch variations reported. As a 2026 release, Verde Respiro has not yet accumulated the multi-year production history that typically reveals reformulation or batch drift. Early purchasers report consistent performance and colour across the first production runs.

Layering Ideas
- Layer with Giardini di Toscana Bianco Latte for a creamier, gourmand-adjacent take — the vanilla and milk notes soften the moss into something almost dessert-like.
- Pair with a bright bergamot or neroli cologne in high summer to lift the fruity opening and keep the oakmoss from feeling heavy in the heat.
- Combine with a warm amber or vanilla-forward base in winter to add density and sweetness to the drydown, turning Verde Respiro into an unexpectedly cosy cold-weather scent.
- A single spray on fabric (a scarf, a coat collar) extends the mossy drydown for days without amplifying the sharp opening.
