Pros & Cons

  • ✅ Love forever! ❤️ I was wearing this when I bought my 1st bottle when it was originally released & someone asked what I was wearing...I said Samsara. They then asked...'Say I'm Sorry?'. We laughed so hard & ever since then I can never say Samsara without thinking about it as 'Say I'm Sorry'!
  • ✅ Samsara, you're so easy to love. The very opening is indeed a sweet liquer of ylang-ylang and fruit, but it soon transitions into the main event: A whipped butter cloud of white florals (ylang, jasmine, etc.) and vanilla-tonka-amber spread on sandalwood toast. Delicious.
  • ✅ MY ALL TIME FAVORITE. They're NEVER be another!
  • ✅ Sensational. I got myself a bottle initially for my mother, but she preferred the EDP, which she owns, so I decided to keep it for myself, as I'd already opened it. ... Gorgeous sandalwood on my skin, unmistakable and the core of this fragrance, it radiates off my skin and is at the forefront of the scent, thankfully.
  • ✅ 1989 Mysore sandalwood-ylang masterpiece
  • ✅ Alluring exotic timeless Guerlain signature
  • ✅ Samsara Eau de Toilette is truly spellbinding, creating a unique harmony between warm sandalwood and powdery florals.
  • ❌ I find with Guerlain perfumes you either love the fragrance or you hate it. There is no middle ground. There are several that I adore. Sadly, Samsara is not one of them. Despite all the delicious fruits listed, none come through. Instead, the overpowering scent is a mix of dusty mothballs and Narcissus which gives me a headache.
  • ❌ Well this is certainly a classic scent profile concocted by Jean-Paul Guerlain in 1989. For those of you who love indolic white florals, this is a Guerlain classic that you no doubt love. I don't. I just can't get into the skank of indoles. Its not sensual and seductive to me. Beyond that, there is something abrasive and grating about this scent that is not enjoyable for me, and I think it has a lot to do with the iris.
  • ❌ This is clearly a classic beloved by many. I wanted to love it but it was not to be. Something in it just turns my stomach. Its sweet & powdery, heavy and lasts eternally. Clearly made well. Pass for me.
  • ❌ Reformulations vary noticeably
  • ❌ Loud and not blind-buy safe
