Lattafa Creative Art Review: A $30 Amouage Outlands Clone?
Lattafa's smoky-spicy amber takes aim at a niche icon — here's how it actually performs.

Scent Journey
The first 30 minutes are bright and peppery. Bergamot and lemon give a sharp citrus lift, but cardamom and black pepper move in almost immediately, and elemi adds a lemony-resinous edge that bridges the citrus and the incense to come. It reads as fresh-spicy before it reads as warm-spicy, and it is noticeably loud from the first spray.
Roughly one to two hours in, the composition turns dry and spicy. Cumin and saffron are the drivers here — cumin brings a warm, faintly skin-like quality that some wearers love and others find challenging, while saffron adds a leathery, slightly metallic richness. Geranium and jasmine soften the edges, and patchouli begins to anchor the base without dominating. This is the most polarising phase of the fragrance.
From four hours onward, Creative Art settles into a smoky, balsamic amber. Frankincense is the headline note, supported by benzoin and vanilla for sweetness and by amber for warmth and staying power. The spice never fully disappears, but it recedes into a smooth, resinous trail that lasts well into the following hours and lingers on fabric long after that.
Performance Dashboard
Long-lasting and strong. Expect eight to ten hours or more on skin, with a noticeably longer life on clothing.
Strong projection. Two to three sprays is sufficient; more than that is likely to overwhelm a closed room.
Rated approximately 9.1 out of 10 by Fragrantica reviewers, which is a strong, room-filling scent trail.
When to Wear
Pros & Cons
- Verified note pyramid built around frankincense, saffron, cardamom and amber
- Long-lasting, strong performance with high reported sillage
- Widely reported as a close alternative to Amouage Outlands at a fraction of the cost
- Excellent value at roughly $25 to $40 for 100ml
- Genuinely unisex and well suited to cold-weather evening wear
- The cumin and saffron heart is polarising and can read as heavy or skin-like to some noses
- Too loud and too spicy for hot weather or close office environments
- Perfumer is not disclosed, and there is no official confirmation of the clone relationship
- Aggregate user rating of 3.66 out of 5 is solid rather than spectacular
- As a new release, long-term batch consistency data is still limited
Price & Value
“On a cost-per-wear basis, Creative Art is one of the stronger value propositions in the current Lattafa lineup, particularly for anyone who has been curious about Amouage Outlands but unwilling to pay niche prices.”
Reformulation History
No significant batch variations have been reported for Creative Art. The fragrance is a 2026 release, so the sample base is still small and long-term consistency data is limited. Lattafa has a general reputation for minor batch-to-batch variance across its older lines, so buyers of future production runs should treat that as a possibility rather than a documented issue here.

Layering Ideas
- Layer with a bright, bergamot-forward eau de parfum to lighten the opening for daytime wear
- Layer with a smoky oud or leather fragrance to push the composition darker and more formal
- Layer with a simple vanilla or amber solinote to round off the cumin and saffron heart
- Avoid layering with other heavy spice or incense fragrances, as the combination quickly becomes overwhelming
