Scent Journey
The first thirty minutes are dominated by dark, jammy fruit. Plum and black currant arrive syrupy and almost liqueur-like, with a candied density that reads rich rather than juvenile. Orange blossom threads a bright, faintly soapy floral line through the sweetness and keeps it from collapsing into pure sugar. This is the loudest the fragrance will ever be, and it announces itself clearly from arm's length.
Between one and two hours the florals take the wheel. Ylang-ylang brings a creamy, almost banana-adjacent yellow floral texture; jasmine adds indolic, narcotic weight; rose supplies the structural spine. The oud begins to surface underneath, not as a barnyard assault but as a warm woody-resinous hum. The composition shifts from dessert to bouquet, and the animalic thread that runs through the heart starts to make itself known.
From roughly the fourth hour onward, Layali settles into amber and agarwood. The fruit is gone, the florals have softened into a slightly powdery haze, and what remains is a sweet, resinous, faintly animalic skin scent that clings to fabric and collar with impressive tenacity. It stays warm and wearable rather than sharp, and the final hours are intimate but persistent.
Performance Dashboard
6-8 hours on skin, considerably longer on clothing. Two to three sprays on pulse points will carry you through an evening; a fourth extends it into the next morning on fabric.
Moderate, roughly arm's length for the first two hours before pulling closer to the skin. Not a beast-mode oud, and that is arguably to its credit.
Moderate. It leaves a defined but not room-filling trail, the kind of scent people notice when they lean in rather than from across a restaurant.
When to Wear
Pros & Cons
- Extraordinary value: a genuine oud-amber composition for roughly $25-$35 per 50ml
- Rich, layered evolution from jammy fruit to resinous amber over several hours
- Available in both EDP spray and concentrated perfume oil (CPO), suiting different wear styles
- The oud is smoothed and approachable, making it an ideal entry point into Arabian perfumery
- The opening is aggressively sweet and can read as heavy or cloying in warm weather
- Moderate projection means it will not fill a room the way a heavier oud might
- The animalic and indolic facets of jasmine and oud are polarising
- Availability and naming vary by region, which is precisely why the Ley confusion exists
Price & Value
“One of the strongest value propositions in the affordable Arabian segment. Buy the 50ml EDP blind if you like sweet florals with depth; sample first if you are oud-averse.”
Reformulation History
No significant batch variations reported. As with most mass-produced Arabian EDPs, minor differences in sweetness or projection between production runs are possible but not documented as a widespread concern.

Layering Ideas
- Layer the CPO perfume oil under the EDP spray for a longer, denser wear cycle, oil first, spray second.
- Pair with a plain vanilla or amber body oil to amplify the base and soften the fruity opening.
- Combine with a single spray of a dry, woody rose fragrance to push the composition in a more classical direction for evening wear.
- For cooler months, apply to the nape of the neck and behind the knees rather than the wrists, allowing the amber to bloom slowly instead of flashing sweet.
