Scent Journey
The first thirty minutes are dominated by chamomile, pine and cardamom, with resin smouldering underneath. Expect a cool, herbal, faintly medicinal cloud — an effect somewhere between a herbalist's shop and a pine forest after rain. Projection is at its most assertive here, though still moderate in absolute terms.
As the coniferous top burns off, artemisia and lavender take command and the composition shifts from cool to dry. Broom's honeyed, waxy warmth emerges, and jasmine begins to round the edges. This is the most classically fougère moment of the wear, and arguably the most distinctive: bitter, green and aromatic, with a golden honeyed thread running through it.
The final stage is a slow, soft landing into milk, fig, tonka, vanilla and creamy Australian sandalwood. The bitterness disappears almost entirely; what remains is warm, lactonic, faintly sweet and woody, with a balsamic resinous echo persisting in the background. It is a genuinely beautiful drydown — and the phase in which Idnà is most likely to attract unsolicited attention.
Performance Dashboard
Reported six to eight hours on skin, which is modest for an Extrait de Parfum; the aromatic heart fades well before the lactonic-woody base.
Moderate — sits at roughly arm's length for the first two hours before settling closer to the skin.
Moderate — leaves a discernible but close trail rather than filling a room.
When to Wear
Pros & Cons
- A genuinely original opening built on chamomile, pine and cardamom
- Sophisticated, beautifully resolved lactonic sandalwood drydown
- True extrait de parfum concentration
- A coherent intellectual concept that the composition actually delivers
- Limited, boutique-only distribution guarantees rarity
- Comfortably unisex in its balance of bitter herb and creamy wood
- Six to eight hours of longevity is unremarkable for an extrait
- Moderate projection limits its presence in social settings
- Availability restricted to Terenzi boutiques, making sampling difficult
- The herbal, faintly medicinal opening is polarising
- No smoky or mineral facet, which may disappoint a literal volcanic reading
- Pricing is not publicly confirmed, complicating value assessment
Price & Value
“If projection and longevity are your primary metrics, the money is better spent elsewhere; if you are buying a distinctive aromatic extrait that almost nobody else owns, the premium is defensible.”
Reformulation History
No significant batch variations reported. As a 2024 release produced in limited runs, Idnà has not yet accumulated the long-term batch data that older compositions possess, but there is no indication of reformulation or inconsistency.

Layering Ideas
- A single spray of a smoky church-incense extrait on the chest pulls the resinous top notes forward and literalises the volcano theme without disturbing the base.
- A light application of a vanilla or tonka soliflore amplifies the lactonic drydown and extends longevity, at the cost of some herbal austerity.
- Do not layer with citrus-forward colognes; the acidity fights the milk-and-fig base and produces a sour, curdled effect.
- In warmer weather, apply to fabric rather than skin to soften the lactonic density and slow the projection.
