Scent Journey
The first thirty minutes are a controlled detonation. Rhubarb arrives sharp and ruby-red, its signature tartness sharpened by a grapefruit so bitter it practically sparkles. Pink pepper scatters across the top like sparks, adding a dry, rosy heat that keeps the fruit from ever turning sweet. There is a curious coolness here — almost wet stone — that hints at the mineral heart to come. The overall impression is bright, acidic, and faintly dangerous, like fruit ripening on volcanic soil.
As the citrus recedes, the fragrance turns. The 'lava' accord — a smoky, mineral, almost sulfurous texture — rises through the heart, wrapped around a leather that is tanned rather than polished. Indian jasmine threads through the smoke with a creamy, slightly animalic breath, and ambergris lends a saline, skin-like glow. This is the most theatrical phase: hot, dry, resinous, and unmistakably volcanic. It smells of scorched earth and sun-warmed hide.
Four hours and beyond, O Vesu settles into a solemn, beautiful base. Birch tar gives a smoky, tarry depth that reads as birch leather; oakmoss and Haitian vetiver supply a damp, green, almost fungal earthiness; Australian sandalwood and cedar build a warm, creamy, softly resinous frame. The result is a dark, quiet, and deeply textured skin scent — closer to cooled lava than open flame, but no less powerful for its stillness.
Performance Dashboard
8-10 hours on skin, longer on fabric. As an extrait de parfum, it clings tenaciously, especially through the smoky-woody drydown.
Strong for the first two to three hours, then settling into a closer, more intimate aura.
Moderate to heavy. It fills a room without shouting, but leaves a clear, unmistakable trail behind the wearer.

Layering Ideas
- Layer a single spray over a creamy sandalwood oil to soften the smoky opening for daytime wear.
- Pair with a rose-dominant oud for a richer, more oriental evening composition.
- Combine with a clean vanilla or tonka base to warm the mineral drydown and add sweetness.
- Avoid layering over citrus-forward fragrances — the acidity will fight the birch tar.
