Scent Journey
The first spray is a burst of maple syrup and grapefruit, with a hot, mineral undercurrent. It is sweet, spicy, and slightly shocking. The lava note is not smoky in a traditional sense; it is more like the smell of hot metal and dry earth. The grapefruit adds a fleeting freshness that prevents the opening from being too heavy. Within minutes, the pimento and geranium begin to peek through, adding a spicy-green facet.
The heart is where Primo finds its balance. Tonka bean smooths the edges, while pimento and geranium add complexity. The mineral notes are still present, but they are now woven into the sweetness. The fragrance feels warm and enveloping, with a subtle powdery quality. It is at this stage that the fougère backbone becomes more apparent. The sillage is strong, leaving a trail that is both sweet and spicy.
The base is a rich, woody blend of sandalwood, patchouli, and cedarwood. The sweetness has deepened into a dark, resinous amber-like warmth. The mineral notes persist, giving the drydown a unique, almost metallic edge. The fragrance remains close to the skin but still projects moderately. After 8+ hours, it is a skin scent, but a beautiful one—warm, woody, and slightly sweet.
