Scent Journey
The opening is a dramatic burst of incense essence, saffron, coriander seeds, and a smoke accord. The incense is immediately prominent, smoky and resinous, with the saffron adding a spicy, leathery facet. Coriander seeds provide a slight citrusy and peppery nuance, while the smoke accord intensifies the overall smokiness. It's intense and captivating, setting the stage for a deep, meditative experience. The first spray is almost overwhelming, so apply with caution.
As the fragrance settles, the heart reveals akigalawood, cashmere wood, and amber wood. Akigalawood, a proprietary ingredient, offers a woody, spicy, and slightly floral character, reminiscent of oud but softer. Cashmere wood adds a creamy, smooth woodiness, while amber wood contributes a warm, resinous sweetness. The incense from the top persists, now intertwined with the woods, creating a harmonious and luxurious blend. This is the stage where the fragrance becomes truly wearable, as the initial intensity softens into a warm, enveloping embrace.
The base is a rich, long-lasting affair with incense resinoid, leather accord, cistus absolute, and musk. The incense resinoid deepens the smoky, balsamic quality, while the leather accord adds a supple, animalic edge. Cistus absolute, also known as labdanum, brings a sticky, amber-like sweetness with a hint of honey and leather. Musk softens the composition, adding a sensual, skin-like warmth. The drydown lingers for hours, leaving a trail of smoky, woody, and leathery residues. Even after 12 hours, a faint whisper of incense remains on the skin, a testament to its incredible longevity.
