Scent Journey
The fragrance opens with an immediate, dense, and hyper-realistic vanilla. Unlike the airy, ethyl-vanillin notes found in mass-market scents, this is the smell of a freshly sliced Madagascar vanilla bean—dark, slightly woody, and intensely creamy without being overly sweet.
As the oil warms on the skin over the first hour, the tonka bean emerges to add a nutty, toasted dimension. There is a hint of hay-like sweetness and a subtle spice that gives the vanilla a three-dimensional, 'chewy' texture.
The true magic happens in the drydown, where Amouage’s signature frankincense takes hold. The olibanum provides a cool, silver smoke that cuts through the warmth, grounding the gourmand elements in a resinous, almost liturgical base that lasts for the better part of a day.
Performance Dashboard
10+ hours; as a 100% oil concentration, it frequently lingers on the skin into the next morning.
Moderate; it sits close to the skin but leaves a persistent, noticeable trail as you move.
Strong for an oil; it creates a dense aura around the wearer rather than a sharp spray.
