- ✅ This is my dads go to fragrance, lol. It is kind of a weird old school concept, with a sea water note. Weirdly, it smells so clean and fresh. It feels barbershoppy, and very mass appealing while being very masculine.
- ✅ Classic. Timeless. Affordable. But Gen Z and millennials need not apply. 7/10
- ✅ Ah, the good old Cool Water. I can't really say anything that wouldn't sound clichéd but there is a reason why is it so popular, even after almost 40 years since it's release.
- ✅ I used to wear Cool Water in the 90’s as a teen because a girl I liked said it was my favorite fragrance. ... This is an affordable, versatile, everyday wear (especially in the summer) and is still a banger in 2026!
- ✅ Been wearing this since the early 90s and still reach for it. That should say enough. Opens cold and sharp. Mint and sea air, no warmup, no buildup. Just hits you immediately.

- ❌ Smells like playdough and ramen noodles. A block of uncooked instant ramen noodles, to be specific. It's... interesting, to say the least. Not something I will wear again. It also smells super low quality, though considering the price point, that's a given.
- ❌ Not blind buy safe. Rosemary is very strong and is followed by clean lemon scented mop bucket water. Crisp green smell green vibes like piney. “Unsafe bb. It's a heavy blast of herbal rosemary that dries down into a lemony, industrial-cleaner scent. Very crisp, coniferous, and heavily green.”
- ❌ Terrible longevity
- ❌ Opening is fresh but the dry down is too cleaner synthetic like. I'm sure this was way better before all the reformulations.
- ❌ This was my first fresh fragrance but I should have researched deeper of long it lasted. The sillage is very minimal and the longevity on this one is non existent. This makes it a no-go for me.
- ❌ Can be perceived as generic or a 'dad scent' by some younger users
- ❌ Longevity and projection can be moderate, not beast mode
- ❌ Has undergone reformulations, with newer batches potentially less potent than vintage
