Scent Journey
The first thirty minutes are a warm, almost tipsy rush: dark rum lifted by a bright flick of cinnamon and the faintly feral, skin-warm hum of cumin. Projection is strong and the fragrance reads as pure indulgence — boozy, spiced and immediately magnetic.
After an hour or so the rum recedes and the vanilla absolute arrives in force — not sugary, but deep, resinous and almost leathery, cushioned by labdanum's honeyed, ambered warmth. This is the most opulent passage of the fragrance, with sillage sitting at a generous moderate-to-heavy.
From the fourth hour onward the sweetness is slowly overtaken by a dry, smoky base: roasted chestnut, earthy bourbon vetiver and the tarry, medicinal whisper of guaiacol. What remains after seven hours is a warm, woody, faintly sweet shadow on skin.
Performance Dashboard
Long-lasting — 7+ hours on skin, and still detectable on fabric the following morning.
Strong for the first two to three hours, then settling into a close, warm aura.
Moderate to heavy — leaves a visible warm trail without becoming oppressive.

Pros & Cons
- ✅ Exceptional vanilla absolute with real depth, resinous texture and staying power
- ✅ Long-lasting (7+ hours) with strong projection and moderate-to-heavy sillage
- ✅ Distinctive rum, cinnamon and cumin opening that avoids generic gourmand sweetness
- ✅ Genuinely unisex and beautifully constructed drydown of chestnut, vetiver and guaiacol
- ✅ Layers well and performs superbly in cold weather
- ❌ Cumin can read animalic or savoury on some skin
- ❌ €245 for 100 ml is a significant investment for a divisive profile
- ❌ Too dense for summer heat and most office settings
- ❌ Community rating of 3.80 out of 5 reflects a fragrance that splits opinion
- ❌ The sweet-spicy gourmand space is crowded with strong, more affordable competitors
Price & Value
“Fair value for confirmed lovers of boozy, smoky gourmands; a costly gamble for anyone who prefers lighter or fresher compositions. Sample on skin first.”

Layering Ideas
- A single spray of a dry, smoky incense underneath to emphasise the guaiacol and pull the composition away from dessert territory
- A light mist of a citrus-forward cologne on the chest before applying Frustration, to lift the opening for cooler spring days
- A plain, unsweetened vetiver or woody base to extend the earthy drydown and add freshness
- Avoid layering with other vanillas or sweet ambers — the composition is already complete and extra sugar flattens its tension
