Scent Journey
The first spray is a burst of candied and dried fruit — strawberry, pineapple, peach and black currant glazed with something almost syrupy — cut sharply by pink pepper, cardamom and a thread of cumin. A whisper of coffee and coconut adds a toasted, exotic warmth. Within minutes the rose and saffron begin to surface, and the fruit recedes into a golden haze rather than disappearing.
The heart is where Turath declares itself. Agarwood arrives with saffron, and the two lock together into that unmistakable medicinal-leathery signature that defines Gulf perfumery at its best. Rose softens the oud's edges, sandalwood and cedar add creamy structure, while iris and violet dust everything with a fine powdery veil. Cypriol contributes a dark, rooty earthiness underneath.
Four hours in, Turath becomes a skin-scented cathedral: incense and smoke, leather and ambergris, vanilla and labdanum. The balsams — Peru and tolu — give a plush, resinous sweetness, while civet and oakmoss lend a faintly animalic, mossy depth that keeps the composition from ever turning merely pretty. Sandalwood and guaiac wood hold the base together for hours more.
Performance Dashboard
8+ hours on skin, and considerably longer on fabric — a scarf sprayed in the morning still carries the base the following day.
Strong for the first three to four hours, reaching well beyond arm's length before settling into a rich, close-wearing aura.
Heavy. Turath leaves a full, room-filling trail; two sprays is a statement, four is a takeover.

- ✅ Exceptionally complex, multi-layered pyramid that evolves for hours
- ✅ Outstanding longevity and heavy sillage — very few sprays needed
- ✅ Genuine oud-rose-saffron craftsmanship rather than a synthetic shortcut

- ✅ Strong community rating of 4.45 out of 5 on Fragrantica
- ❌ Premium price — approximately $425 USD for the 100 ml eau de parfum
- ❌ Too dense and animalic for summer or office wear
- ❌ The fruity opening can read overly sweet to those who prefer drier orientals
- ❌ Not widely available at discounters, so sampling first is essential
Price & Value
“Fair value for what it delivers. If you already love oud-rose-saffron orientals, this is money well spent; if you are oud-curious, sample first before committing.”

Layering Ideas
- Layer with a single-note Taif rose attar to amplify the floral heart and soften the smoke.
- A dab of plain vanilla or tonka oil underneath will round off the animalic edges for daytime wear.
- A drop of pure agarwood oil deepens the oud accord for cold winter evenings.
- Avoid layering with fresh citrus, aquatic or blue fragrances — they clash badly with the resinous base.
