BWFH Dosaydo Review: Drake's Boozy Rose With a Bite

Cannabis, passionfruit and cognac meet rose in Drake's most grown-up scent yet.

By Vivir ·
Drake has always been a world-builder. October's Very Own turned a Toronto area code into a global mood board, and Better World Fragrance House — the scent imprint operating under that umbrella — has spent its run translating that mood into glass. Dosaydo, the house's 2026 release, arrives with unusually heavy symbolism attached: it lands in the same month Drake turns 40, a milestone that tends to make a person trade their loudest impulses for something with a little more mass. On paper, Dosaydo is a rose fragrance that refuses to behave. The top notes read like the first hour of a very good party — cannabis, clary sage, passionfruit and sparkling wine — while the heart settles into rose, black pepper and petitgrain, and the base goes full evening: cognac, tonka bean and white cedar extract. It is unisex, it is an EDP, it is priced between $198 and $250 for 100ml, and it was composed by Michael Carby, the nose the house keeps returning to. Which is exactly why it deserves more than a shrug. Fragrantica's accord breakdown runs ten lanes wide — aromatic, cannabis, rose, herbal, sweet, soft spicy, tropical, smoky, green, fruity — and that spread tells you something the note pyramid alone doesn't: this is a fragrance built to be argued about, worn differently by everyone who puts it on, and almost impossible to file neatly into the celebrity-fragrance bin. Dosaydo is not a safe launch. It is the sound of a house deciding to have an actual point of view.

Scent Journey

1
Opening 0-30 min

The first 0-30 minutes are the most talked-about part of Dosaydo: an effervescent sparkling-wine lift tangled with tart, almost sulfury passionfruit, riding over a genuinely green cannabis and clary-sage accord. It reads herbal, aromatic and faintly 'sparkling' at once — closer to a lifted aperitif than a floral opening, with the rose still waiting in the wings.

2
Heart 1-2 hrs

Roughly 1-2 hours in, the rose takes the lead, supported by black pepper's soft prickle and petitgrain's citrus-leaf verdancy. The tropical fruit recedes rather than disappears, leaving a rose that reads more saturated and jammy than powdery, with the green-herbal scaffolding still visible underneath.

3
Drydown 4+ hrs

From about 4 hours onward, Dosaydo settles into its true self: cognac's boozy dried-fruit warmth, tonka bean's almond-hay sweetness, and a clean dry white cedar extract holding it all upright. The cannabis is largely gone by this point; what remains is a warm woody-tonka skin scent with a rose ghost running through it.

Performance Dashboard

Longevity 4.0/5

Estimated 6-8 hours based on early wearer reports rather than aggregated data — this 2026 release is too new to have meaningful vote volume. Notably, multiple wearers describe stronger staying power than the house's earlier Cloudar, and brand-site reviews cite a great smell 'from opening to dry down.'

Projection 3.0/5

Moderate — noticeably present in the first few hours, then settling into a warm woody-tonka skin scent that hugs close through the back half of the wear.

Sillage 3.0/5

Moderate. Dosaydo leaves a trail but does not fill a room; it is a scent people discover when they lean in, which suits its boozy-rose-warm-wood composition far better than a scent bomb would.

Pros & Cons

  • Genuinely unusual opening — cannabis, clary sage and sparkling wine is a combination you rarely meet at this price
  • A rose that reads saturated and jammy rather than powdery or old-fashioned
  • Boozy cognac-tonka-cedar base gives it real cold-weather weight
  • Moderate projection makes it wearable in close quarters and on dates
  • Improved staying power over the house's earlier releases, per early wearers
  • The cannabis-green opening is divisive and may not suit everyone
  • 6-8 hour longevity is solid but not exceptional for the price bracket
  • Limited distribution and a very short review record — the community verdict is still forming
  • The tropical-passionfruit phase is fleeting for anyone who falls for it

Price & Value

$198-$250
Positioned at the accessible end of niche pricing: 100ml of EDP from an independent-leaning house with a named perfumer, sitting well below the $350-plus tier occupied by several scents it will inevitably be compared to.

“Fair value if you want an unusual, characterful cold-weather rose; a harder sell if you demand maximal projection and longevity for the money.”

Reformulation History

No significant batch variations reported — the release is too recent and too limited in distribution for reformulation or batch chatter to have developed among wearers.

Who It's For

Ideal For

  • Anyone who likes rose but finds most rose fragrances too polite
  • Wearers of boozy gourmand-adjacent scents who want a greener, more aromatic edge
  • Unisex-wearers looking for a colder-months signature under $250
  • People who prefer a scent that sits close over one that announces them

Not Recommended For

  • Anyone who genuinely dislikes cannabis-forward green accords
  • Wearers who want explosive projection and 12-hour performance
  • People seeking a clean, office-safe freshie
  • Those who find boozy cognac-tonka bases heavy in warm weather

Final Verdict

Dosaydo is the most grown-up thing to come out of Better World Fragrance House so far — a cannabis-and-sparkling-wine rose that opens like an aperitif and closes like a cognac. It is not a safe celebrity release, it is not a performance monster, and it is not for everyone, which is precisely why it works. At $198-$250 for 100ml, it earns a place as a fall and winter signature for anyone who wants their rose with a little smoke in it.
