Scent Journey
The first spray is a burst of liquid sunshine — Sicilian mandarin and mandarin leaf crackle with juicy, slightly bitter brightness, while orange blossom adds a honeyed, almost soapy floral lift. For the first fifteen to thirty minutes the fragrance feels sparkling, cheerful, and unexpectedly luminous for an Addict.
As the citrus recedes, jasmine sambac takes center stage. This is the beating heart of the composition — indolic, creamy, and narcotic, with a faintly green, tea-like edge that keeps it from tipping into heaviness. The white floral here is generous and unmistakably grand, echoing the original Addict's floral core but rendered with a slightly brighter, more transparent touch.
After the first two hours, the fragrance settles into its signature: a molten ribbon of bourbon vanilla wrapped in creamy sandalwood. The vanilla is rich, balsamic, and faintly boozy, with a powdery sweetness that recalls the 2002 original. Sandalwood lends a soft, milky woodiness that grounds the sweetness. The drydown is warm, enveloping, and deeply sensual — the part of Addict that devotees remember most.

- Versatile enough for both daytime cold-weather wear and evening occasions
- Reformulation may disappoint purists who loved the original's darker character

- Sweet and powdery profile is not for everyone
- Projection softens considerably after the first few hours

Layering Ideas
- Layer with a single spritz of a woody-amber base such as Dior Bois d'Argent to deepen the sandalwood drydown
- Pair with a light vanilla body lotion to amplify the bourbon vanilla without altering the floral heart
- Combine with a citrus-forward cologne in the opening for a brighter, more daytime-appropriate lift
- Avoid layering with heavy oud or leather scents, which can overwhelm the delicate jasmine sambac
