Scent Journey
The first thirty minutes belong to red pepper. It arrives hot and slightly bright, with a tingle that sits close to the skin rather than filling the room. There is a faint sweetness underneath from the start, and the pepper reads more rounded and less dry than the black pepper used in most spicy designer masculines. New wearers often describe the opening as fizzy or effervescent.
By the one to two hour mark the pepper has receded and lavender takes over the centre of the composition. This is a full, aromatic lavender rather than a clean barbershop one — herbal and slightly sweet, with a soft powdery texture that several reviewers single out. The sweetness that runs through the whole fragrance is most obvious here.
From roughly four hours onward the fragrance settles into sandalwood. It is creamy, warm and slightly milky, smoothing out the pepper's heat and the lavender's sweetness into a cosy woody base. The drydown is the longest phase and the one that lingers on clothing the next morning.
Performance Dashboard
8-10+ hours on skin, longer on clothing. Multiple user reviews report the scent still detectable the following morning.
Heavy. Users describe the projection as near nuclear, with two to three sprays reported as more than enough for an evening.
Strong. The fragrance leaves a clearly readable trail and is easy to notice on someone walking past.
When to Wear
Pros & Cons
- ✅ Exceptional longevity of 8-10+ hours, with reports of it surviving overnight on clothing
- ✅ Strong sillage and heavy projection — very few sprays needed
- ✅ Distinctive three-note structure that is easy to recognise and remember
- ✅ Excellent cold-weather performer
- ✅ Reasonable designer pricing for a 100ml Elixir concentration
- ❌ The sweetness is described by some users as cloying
- ❌ Too heavy for warm weather, humid days or close office environments
- ❌ Limited versatility — it is effectively an evening and cold-season fragrance
- ❌ The simple structure can read as linear over a long wearing
- ❌ Heavy projection makes overspraying easy and unpleasant
Price & Value
“Good value on performance alone. Discount retailers frequently bring it below the $90 mark, at which point it becomes one of the stronger cold-weather buys in the designer segment.”

Layering Ideas
- Apply over an unscented or lightly vanilla-scented body lotion to soften the pepper opening and extend the sandalwood drydown
- In spring, layer a single spray of a fresh citrus or blue aquatic fragrance underneath to lift the density — apply the Elixir first, the fresh scent on top
- Avoid layering with other sweet or spice-forward fragrances, which tend to compound into something cloying
- Keep it to two or three sprays total when layering, since projection is already heavy on its own
