Pros & Cons
- ✅ When Coco Chanel was in the process of creating Chanel No 5, she suggested to her perfumer in Grasse “I don’t want to smell like a flower; I want to smell like a woman.” However, if you do want to smell like a flower, then this fragrance is for you!! You will be a beautiful rose!!
- ✅ It's really important to try fragrances (notwithstanding the value of the opinions on this wonderful blog) - the rose comes through and remains softly (yet distinctly) present the longer I wear it! Lovely. Perfect for summer - makes me think of a beautiful white maxi-dress flowing in the breeze!
- ✅ This resembles the other Paris springtime versions (all very good) but this one seems to be happier, stronger, fresher. Very good staying power - I sprayed it at 8:30 a.m. and now it's 4 p.m. and I still get it around me, so delicious. Makes my heart beat faster.
- ✅ I had a sample of this magnificent perfume. Rose, powdery nearly with aldehydes. But its powdery rose, with violet. Really longlasting. Bad it was a limited or season release. Its more modern than a Paris first one from 90ties and not vinyl sweet as Parisienne. Its just great, focusing in point between old and new.
- ✅ Love love love it!!!!!!!!! wonderful scent. I would like a EDP or at least EDT of it because " eau legere" is not long lasting.
- ❌ As a rose lover, this is not for me. I get very little rose in the top notes and it dries down to "public restroom soap". I tried this on one wrist and a spritz of the original Paris on the other and I much prefer the original, although the drydown of Paris reminded me of "high class soap". I must compliment its lasting power though. It lasted all evening through several handwashings and I had to scrub to get it off at bedtime.
- ❌ I like the top and heart notes, which create a powdery gentle rose fragrance, but the composition becomes a little sharp on me in the base and I cannot detect any warmth from the sandalwood. Overall I really like this scent, just not on me! I will note that the 2011 version seemed to work just fine for me!
