Pros & Cons
- ✅ Summer roses. Nothing else to say really, smells like a summer rose Bush, very pretty. Very soft and light.
- ✅ It's fresh and soapy, but not in the bad way. Better than a plain rose water (it's French after all), smells like having a refreshing shower with rose soap. Will be a nice summer scent. Has nothing to do with the original Paris, though. This one is an innocent rose while Paris is naughty.
- ✅ The Paris springtime flankers are always so delightful, sophisticated, and feminine. I look forward to sniffing them every year and purchase one once in a while. Like the others, this one is all about the rose and it is just gorgeous. The rose is the same one found in the mother of them all, Paris. It's a big rose, but it won't bowl you over. Instead of the violet, it features neroli and some other white floral elements that I don't necessarily detect. There is no powder here. Definitely well blended. Paris 2014 is one of the few fragrances that I just cannot get enough of...Because of the lighter composition, I spray liberally and use it more like a cologne or body splash. It projects fairly well for about 3-4 hours, but then I have to have another shot. That's not a problem, since it comes in a giant 4.2oz bottle and there's a new version every year. They're all slightly different and well-worth sampling!
- ❌ I'm utterly dissapointed with this perfume. I'm a hughe fan of Paris and I bought this untested thinking "well if Paris is absolut perfection this cannot be anything less" Dear was I wrong!!! The smell is of really cheap supermarket cologne, really pungent, the kind of smell that gets stuck inside your nostrils and gives you a nasty headache even when you smell it from far away. I have tried using it a few times thinking that maybe somehow it would develop into something like georgeous Paris but no, it just stays the same forever. If anyone is willing to swap I'll be more than happy. =(
- ❌ Oh dear. i honestly took the lid off, squirted it in the air....then on a card, but i can't even bring myself to have it on my skin. by no means is my opinion a reflection of the integrity of this scent. and it tells me so much about scents being part of our memories and experiences as much as the scent themselves! i cannot smell the roses in this...i have beautiful smelly sweet blooms in my garden and they have absolutely no resemblance to the roses in Paris. I think you obviously have to be a lover of Paris to like this. having never tried Paris (silly me), i assumed it would be a light, fresh, floral rose with the crisp beautiful accents (like you are all describing!)...but to me, i am transported to 1980's hot summer days...it smells like a flustered Avon lady coming in the house to cool off and show her wares, mixed with an end of day whiff that came from some of my P.E. teachers at school. (perhaps it is because my mum at the same time was wearing parfum, Madame Rochas and Chanel No.5...she smelt of "perfume"...not what smells to me like crushed, brown (fake) petals and body spray. i know this is a light eau de toilette...i am trying to figure out why i can't even try to wear this.) so sorry. the smell to me is utterly repellent and old fashioned in a bad way. summer smell...yes, but 1980's sports days in the changing rooms... i was so excited to receive this after all the positive reviews. again, this is my personal experience. i am sure i am a one off. if anyone would like to swap, let me know...i have a brand new FB.
